The Academy Ballet Uniform

Academy Ballet is a traditional ballet school, upholding the age-old practices that make ballet a truly unique art form. As such, uniforms are compulsory at AB.

Preparing for class is a mental process that can be boosted by going through the motions of putting your uniform and shoes on, doing your hair and warming up. Students that have the time to get dressed and correctly do their hair are generally the students that are more successful.

A note before purchasing your uniform

You can buy our FULL uniform at either Bloch or Ballet Emporium. If you go to either of these stores, just tell the sales assistant you’re from Academy Ballet and which class your child is in and they’ll know exactly what to provide you.

We recommend trialling our classes before you buy the uniform. We want to make sure your child loves us before you outlay any uniform costs.

  • Black character shoes (Grade IV do not need character shoes)

  • Black character skirt (optional)

BOYS uniform for all boys

  • White sleeveless leotard, singlet or tee

  • Shorts or tights (navy for grades, black for seniors)

  • White socks
  • White ballet shoes
  • Grade I-Grade V require character shoes as well

Seniors GIRLS
(Grades Inter Foundation & Above)

  • Black leotard (for exam RAD Rosa Girls Examination Leotard BLACK)

  • Skin tone ballet tights

  • Skin tone ballet shoes with elastics

  • Pointe shoes with ribbons (checked by your teacher)
